Cleaning Up Your Company

It's unfortunate, but the stereotypical image of a van driver is still alive and kicking, mobile stuck to his ear, what looks like the contents of a rubbish bin strewn across his dashboard and his hand permanently fixed in a less than polite gesture. By no means is this the norm, but this small minority are prompting calls for licensing regulations to be introduced. Your companies Transit Van Insurance bills could be up to 30% higher than they need to be, by following a few simple points you can save money on all aspects of running a commercial vehicle.

Inevitably, driving for a living is getting more and more stressful and fewer of us are learning to deal with it properly and resort to quick releases of aggression that can often lead to very unfortunate circumstances. This image really does have to be kicked into touch, and there are a number of measures that employers are starting to take to stop their employees giving a bad impression of their company.

I'm sure you've guessed by now that this article is aimed at employers rather than employees although independant drivers would certainly do well to give this article a quick read. Just go through this list and check that you are following most of these points, if you're not you could be damaging your business.

- If your drivers are forever having little knocks and it's raising your Transit Van Insurance, perhaps it's time to introduce some kind of bonus scheme for drivers who manage the whole year without making a claim. This will bring down the cost of your van insurance and give your workers a goal to aim for.

- Appearance is still important to many companies and will often choose a service based on a recommendation of a friend or colleague. Who are the going to choose if the service was very similar from 2 companies? The smartly presented polite driver in a nice clean van, or the ape like abomination who doesn't know any other words than "Sign here!!" in a van covered in "Clean Me" and "This Van used to be white". Insist your vehicles are cleaned once every week or two, this wil give people a much better impression of your company.

- How much fuel is your company using every month? The savings that can be made by driving at 70Mph compared to 75mph are not to be sniffed at, are you sure your drivers are obeying the speed limits.

We're not here to say that you should impose a whole new set of rules on your employees, but all of these points will save your company money and potentially attract new business.
