We were one of the first brokers to offer online insurance and as such we have some of the industry experts working for us. We've also been trading for years as a telephone broker so you know that we're here to stay.

Truck Loose Loads

We all know that when you're carrying loads around the country you can be pushed for time but we think there are a few things you should consider before setting off. Is the load you are carrying in the back of the van or on your trailer secure?

There are a number of reasons to spend the time ensuring that the load you're carrying is tied down properly.

Prevent Damages to the Goods

If you're carrying fragile materials then the chances of the load being damaged are greatly increased if it's rocking around and can move freely. If you damage a load because it wasn't tied down properly then it's likely the receiver will claim off your insurance which is likely to mean higher premiums next year.

Less Damage to Your Vehicle

Loads with sharp corners can damage the inside of your van if they're left to slide about, a heavy crate with a metal re-inforced corner can leave a sizeable dent in the panel of your van. This kind of damage can also reflect badly on your business, if your van is beaten up and not taken care of, some people will assume that you treat their goods in a similar manner.

Prevent Harm to Other Road Users

If you're carrying loads on an open trailer then it's doubly important that you ensure your load is secure. If something falls off your vehicle and hits another vehicle then you could be liable, you might also be charged with endangering lives by the police.

Your Safety

In the event of a crash or just sever braking, a loose load can become a deadly load. Loose items thrown forward are one of the most common injuries in a crash, in fact a number of people every year are killed because loose items hit them when they've crashed.
